Originally from Columbia, Missouri, with a stint in the Southwest, I am a longtime Seattle resident. My husband and I enjoy family, travel, plants, cooking and eating, and many other activities in the Pacific Northwest. We share our home with a daughter, standard poodle, and bratty cat.
Our activities often involve the Northwest Orchid Society and the Friends of the Conservatory at Volunteer Park. In my “down time,” I enjoy making jewelry for Jubilee Women’s Center, a local nonprofit organization that helps previously homeless women secure stable housing and employment. I have served as a mentor with Parent to Parent, a volunteer group that provides support to parents of children living with disabilities, for the past eight years.
I am a member of the Northwest Science Writers Association, Women in Digital Journalism, Digital Eve, a UW Editors’ Group, and local reading groups, and am especially interested in Thai and French arts and culture.
